About Me:
I am from Texas, as they say “born and raised." In 2012, I graduated from Southlake Carroll Senior High in Southlake, Texas. I plan to return to the Dallas/Fort Worth area after graduating May 7th, 2016. I chose to go to Oklahoma State University in Stillwater, Oklahoma for their amazing College of Education. I applied and was accepted into the ExCEL program at OSU, which provides a year long student teaching internship in Stillwater, Oklahoma. Currently, I am in my second semester of student teaching in a fourth grade math class. I have an enormous passion for teaching and hope to make a difference in young children’s lives throughout my teaching career. I love teaching all subjects, but have taken classes particularly to teach math to higher grade levels.

For my year long student teaching internship, I am placed at Will Rogers Elementary in Stillwater, Oklahoma. During my first semester of student teaching I was enrolled in 13 hours at Oklahoma State while also student teaching. I was a student teacher Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday school days and completed my classes at Oklahoma State on Monday's and Tuesday and Wednesday nights after teaching. During my second semester of student teaching, I will be student teaching Monday through Friday's. The ExCEL program allowed me to be with the same fourth grade math class August through May. At Will Rogers Elementary, fourth grade is departmentalized. My homeroom class is composed of 21 students, but a total of 55 student rotate through the math class I am placed in. During my internship, I am responsible for planning and implementing lesson plans, communicating with parents and staff, attending professional development, monitoring and recording student's behaviors, and also being a part of parent/teacher conferences.
