Rule Creation and Consequences
I will create a list of rules to be followed in my classroom. Once I present the list of rules, my students and I will create additional rules they suggest adding to our list. This will allow them to have a say in the rules within the classroom and encourage them to follow the rules since they helped create them. In my classroom I will use logical consequences, which will include loss of privilege, break it-you fix it, and positive time out. An example when loss of privilege would be used is when a student is drawing on their white board instead of solving a math problem, therefore they would not be able to use it anymore and would have to use pencil and paper instead. An example when break it-fix it would be used would be when a student spilled water on the floor, they would need to clean it up with a paper towel. Lastly, positive time out would be used if a child were getting frustrated with their class work and needs time to gather their thoughts.
